Fast

Lead times

A large stock of wire rod lets us start production straight away. Delivery cycles as short as three weeks for standard grades.

Two wires. One standard: exactly what you need.

Stainless steel wire in the grade, diameter and quantity your process actually calls for — no more, no less. About two thirds of our output goes into the cold-heading industry.

Cold heading wire

For fasteners, screws and cold-formed parts.

Stainless wire drawn and conditioned for cold heading and cold forming. Surface, temper and tolerances are tuned to your process — for clean heads, without cracks and without scrap.

Typical applications

  • Bolts and nuts
  • Screws
  • Rivets
  • Nails
  • Welding studs
  • Blanks and custom fasteners

Bending wire

For conveyor belts, filtration, anchoring and forming.

Stainless wire made for demanding bending, folding and forming — including high-temperature and food-contact environments. You get the grade you need, in the quantity you need.

Typical applications

  • Conveyor belts (bakery, food processing, heat treatment)
  • Filter cages and baskets
  • Refractory anchors
  • Mesh and reinforcement
  • Spoke and chain wire
  • Formed parts to drawing

Stainless steel is our specialty.

At least 10.5 % chromium forms a dense, self-healing passive layer — the heart of corrosion resistance. We know the families in depth and draw the one that fits your part.

Engineered surface

A carrier coating carries the drawing lubricant into the die, forms a separating layer between wire and tooling, and cuts friction and wear. We match the carrier to the job.

Cold heading wire exists everywhere. The difference is how we make it — and how we deliver it.

Made to order

Tailored to your enquiry: exactly the grade and dimension your application needs, calibrated for your process.

Independent producer

We are not tied to any single steel mill. Together with our raw material partners we select the heat that suits your application and guarantee full traceability.

A sensible minimum order quantity

From 1,000 kg: order what you need without holding stock yourself. For smaller quantities we will find a solution together.

Clarity from day one

Order confirmation with delivery date and price within 48 to 72 hours. The wire rod is already in stock — all that remains is production scheduling.

Where does our wire go?

Stainless steel wire is everywhere — often where you don't see it. A few concrete examples of what our customers make from it.

  • Stainless screws and fasteners
  • Rivets and welding studs
  • Oven conveyor belts (bakery)
  • Filter cages and baskets
  • Refractory anchors
  • Reinforcement and mesh

An application that isn't on the list?Let's talk about it— that's often where we're at our best.

Produced in Germany and the US. Delivered wherever you are.

Our stainless steel wire is drawn at three sites in the Hagen region, North Rhine-Westphalia — Hagen, Iserlohn and Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde — and, within the BenderWire Group, at our sister mills in Freeport (Illinois) and Danielson (Connecticut). Across Europe we look after our customers directly.

One specification, one point of contact, one responsibility.

A family-owned German wire mill, since 1932.

Hagener Feinstahl was founded in 1932 in Hagen, Germany. Around 100 employees, three shifts 24/5, roughly 1,500 tonnes a month, and stainless steel wire from 0.20 to 14.00 mm in diameter.

We are part of the BenderWire Group and have been redefining wire since 1815 — five specialised wire mills in Germany and the USA. We are not tied to any single steel mill: together with our raw material partners we select the heat that suits your application, with full traceability from raw material to finished wire.

We buy wire rod in volume and keep it on the floor. That working capital is a deliberate choice: it lets us start production straight away and confirm your order with delivery date and price within 48 to 72 hours.
